Machines and finite element analysis

Growing up on a farm in Allgäu, I came into contact with machines as a child. As a teenager, I became enthusiastic about computers. For me, simulation is the perfect combination of IT and concrete technology.
1995 machte ich den Abschluss des Diplomingenieurs Maschinenbau an der Berufsakademie Ravensburg. Schon in der Diplomarbeit beschäftigte ich mich mit der Vereinfachung von Finiten Elemente Berechnungen durch Programmierung eines Softwaretools.

Introduction of Ansys and new assessment concepts

During my 16 years at the press manufacturers Müller Weingarten AG und Schuler AG, I was significantly involved in the introduction of the FEA application Ansys. I also implemented new evaluation concepts and developed software for simulating the flow of parts through presses and for stroke rate optimisation.

Gearbox expertise at Zollern

In the following 9 years at Zollern GmbH & Co KG in Herbertingen, I focussed on the design of gearboxes and winches. Complex calculations of planetary gearboxes and detailed simulations of gear corrections were part of my job.

Setting up the simulation for presses in Weingarten and Italy

At AIDA Europe GmbH, I set up the technical calculation for presses at the new site in Weingarten and in Italy. This also included the technical training and leadership of my colleagues.

I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to creatively improve designs and products with my simulations. My ambition is to find the better solution in collaborative discussions with developers.

It's the same in professional life. With every new task, you balance the risk, be it financial or in relation to your own family. I took the step from the press industry at Müller Weingarten AG and Schuler into drive technology at Zollern GmbH & Co KG. This was followed by a move to AIDA Europe GmbH at the newly founded subsidiary in Weingarten.

Now I take the next step towards independence as a freelance simulation engineer. I am looking forward to getting to know new products and customers.

I am fascinated by technology. That's why I enjoy analysing a wide variety of products with the aim of improving them. It is equally exciting for me to find out the cause of damage and prevent it in the future.
